CommentsLet me be the first to add my two cents worth to your guest book. As a Wyoming native, now displaced to Reno, Nevada, who has spent much time in Thermopolis, I can only say I miss wonderful Wyoming and Thermop as well. You who live there are fortunate indeed . . . Lloyd Pendergraft, Reno, Nevada
CommentsI haven't been to Thermop for many years. Is it still as charming as I recall?
CommentsWe have family and friends in Thermop and have visited often. Great looking site! Keep up the good work.
CommentsYou have a VERY nice web site here!! Makes me want to come by for a visit....especially since I just found out I have some relatives there! It's a long way from Honolulu, though!
CommentsJust wanted to say hello. We are still trying to sell so we can move to Thermopolis
CommentsI remember about 45 years ago when we would make our bi-annual trip to Thermopolis. We would go to the Star Plunge and swim. We also go to the place where the hot menral water came out. There were always a group of old timers there with their cups drinking the hot "smelly" water
CommentsBeautiful pictures. My grandparents lived in Riverton so I have made many trips through Thermopolis and never realized you could see a mountain peak, Washakie Peak. I thought round top mountain and the hot springs were all that was in Thermopolis! I guess it takes moving away from Wyoming and then coming back years later that makes one realize our State's wonderful assets and beauty. I never moved away but have come to realize after all these years who fortunate I am to live here--or maybe I am just getting old!
CommentsHow exciting to re-visit our great state of Wyoming through the Internet---a beautiful website and very interesting---thank you for doing this for those of us who are no longer in Wyoming --- which will always be "home" for me !!!
CommentsHoping to visit in 2001. My parents think it's great there and want to return.
CommentsHello,...from Tacoma,WA. I just want to say "HI" to Dawn in Thermopolis,WY. I know what the town looks like now. It seems like a comfortable place.to live . I can see why you chose to stay there. Don't be suprised if I happen to be driving through the area soon. I don't think I'll be here too long in Tacoma anyhow. Time to move on.( I believe SLC again ) Why? Good question.(ha).Take care and hope you read this.Bye,..Cale. P/S. if you do,leave a response.
CommentsHI Dawn T. From; Cale M.
CommentsLove it, miss it! I come back every year for a bit if I possibly can, have family and property still in the area. Love the new dino center!! Class of 1960 rocks! See you at classmates.com As for a new business, I have ALWAYS thought that a commercial Asparagus growing operation would be a winner. Thermop Asparagus is absolutely #1 in the U.S. and would be in quite high demand! More Thermop photos at http://www.robin.nxs.net
CommentsA friend that lives in Thermopolis sent me your URL, so I could see what her town looks like. Excellent site!
CommentsWe have always enjoyed the hot springs and small town charm of Thermopolis. My father and grandfather are Wyoming pioneers. We made many trips to soak in the mineral springs, as a young man growing up in the 1950's and 1960's. Now my bones are older and respond more to the theropy of the healing waters. Nice website folks !
CommentsI was surfing around looking for info about Tom Horn when this great website cropped up. Having my dad live in Thermop and having lived there myself, I found it very intriging. Thanks for still being there! Respectfully Bob Poch (Not the Bob that lives there)
CommentsIf you are writing about resources you have available in your town, it would be reccomended to have a link to them or contact information for them.
CommentsI would probably never have visited this site, if I wouldn't have met a german/american family here in Germany... This family is well known in Thermopolis. Anyhow, Thermopolis is a very nice place. I will plan a trip to your town, when I visit my brother in law in West Point. Greetings from Germany Michael B. Vinzens /hometown: Wuerzburg/ State: Bavaria
CommentsI enjoyed your two sites from Thermopolis. I visited there some 50 years ago. I'll bet a lot has change except the red dirt. I will always associate red dirt and Thermopolis. I was also remember the white stones on the mountain. I think that the spelled Thermopolis, but I am not sure now. Maybe I will stop in for another visit sometime in the summer within the next two years.
CommentsYour site was great except you need the elevation and the location of Hot Springs County i.e. what part of Wyoming it is in

CommentsExcellent web page
CommentsCurt, Great site, lots of very valuable information. Bob
Commentskeep the hot springs free! we'll visit for that reason!
CommentsMy father recently settled in Thermopolis. I visited last Thanksgiving. There was about 3 inches of snow on the ground and not a cloud in the "Big" sky. I found the clear, cool, dry climate to be very agreeable. There are some areas that remind me of the beautiful city of Sedona, AZ with it's red rocks dotted with juniper. I was surprised at how much there is to do in the area! The Hot Springs bath house, with it's mild smell of sulpher, was wonderful. I even went down the water slide! The wildlife, indian petroglyphs, canyons, dinosaur bones, and hiking kept me busy for a week. I didn't have time to go to the spa for a message, That will have to be next trip. The people are very friendly and generous. I think my Dad picked and great place to live.
CommentsExcellent website Curt. Living here, it's fun to check the page occasionally and see some old names appear. To those reading this, come back and visit!

CommentsWe are currently seeking a place to live in Thermopolis. We have enjoyed the web site so much that we would like to move to the city by the end of the summer. Is there any way to find a job through the internet? We are anxious to come and see the area since your web site has "sparked" are interest and have made it look like a great place to live.
CommentsI have been going to Thermopolis since 1964. My Father used to take us there every year on vacation. My parents used make us take the baths at the bathhouse only telling us that we would feel better. The entire town is just beautiful. Now as an adult, my husband and I visit each year. We have recommended it to other friends who enjoy the mineral waters and they now go to Thermoplis twice a year. We always enjoy breakfast at the Manhatten Cafe. Even as I write this, my Father is vacationing there. He is now 75 years old and continues to enjoy the town of Thermopolis and loves visiting with the different tourists.

CommentsOh how I have missed Thermop!!!!!!!!! I regret that we have moved and especially regretted the education quality we gave up for our children. I miss the people, the neighborhoods our children were free to explore, the moms and dads that would call if anyones kids were into mischief and the "standing room only" events at school from kindergarten to graduation. We never locked a door (except during zucchini season), seems my car was often loaded with the stuff---------I miss leaving my car running in the winter at the grocery store, and most of all the magical friendships I made there. I know that much has changed, but NEVER that beatiful sky, the hot springs, the feeling of freedom and fresh air. Anyone who has never heard and eagle cry or climbed roundtop just to sit and ponder has missed a great opportunity to get in touch with Creator in a way that is unexplainable. You truly are blessed to be there. For those of you who are new, be not dismayed if there is a distance in the beginning between you and the locals. They are wonderful people. It takes time to make your place, you are judged by your word and honor, not how much money you have or the type of car you drive. Trust is still alive and kicking here and all have to earn it. When I earned my place in the community many years ago, I had more friends who became family than anywhere I have ever lived before. I have lived in many places in my 46 years and this is where I tell people I am from--and with pride. Evie Hadlock
CommentsI appreciate the thought of many college educated Wyoming natives wanting to return to raise families back in the state. You don't realize missing the great people and wide open spaces that Wyoming offers until you live elsewhere. Keep up the good work.
CommentsWe are surveying areas to relocate our business. We want low taxes, decent workforce availability, and low regulatatory requirements. We are currently in Southern California. We are about 2 years out but are starting now to look for the "perfect" locations. Broadband is a MUST!
CommentsWe are looking to relocate to the area. We use to live in Riverton, moved to the East Coast and wish to return to our heart country. Thought Thermopolis might have something to offer.
CommentsI'm looking to relocate within a 5 county radius of Thermopolis. Ireally appreciate your informative web sites. Thank You.

Commentswhen traveling to Yellowstone park a few years ago, we were able to visit Thermopolis and I liked it right off. As an Information Tachnology Professional (computer tech), I would love to live and work there. I am looking. I would love to play with geothermal energy forms and conversions and this area definately has potential.
CommentsI grew up in Thermopolis in the 60"s. Swimming in the winter, sleigh riding on Warren hill, skating on Empire pond were some of the memories I will always fondly remember. Having a root beer float at the Rexall drug store soda fountain after school, seeing "Jail House Rock" at the drive in theater! Being on the Empire Oil little league team, playing ball with Johnny Vailpando.

CommentsHello! Thermopolis. I was searching the web looking for places to take my kids on a dinosaur dig and ended up here. Your website is GREAT! I'm working on a degree in web design and think? I am a fairly good critic. It is very informative. We are venturing to your great town at the end of June, 2002 for a little holiday and dig. My husband is keen to take our bog to your mog bogging... whatever that is.
CommentsWe love Thermopolis. We will be looking to recruit a franchise in this great city to be the Official Wash Guy. www.carwashguys.com thus giving us an excuse to visit often. We just loved it and the hospitality and we are bullish on the Thermopolis market and once we find the right franchisee from your city we are going to bring a few more jobs and keep the town beautiful by washign all the cars, sidewalks, trucks and concrete and we are going to do it very environmentally friendly. Thank you for the hospitality and the great information on your site
CommentsHello! I come to you with a thousand smiles! Found your website, looks like a beautiful place. Is there somewhere where a 46 year old hippy, a Jill of all trades, easy going, hard worker, enjoys life and learning could get a volunteer job in your area? I have just sold my rainforest reserve, Eco-lodge and Wildlife rescue center and am staying with friends here in Las Vegas, eagerly wanting to start some sort of new project. Would like to volunteer working in the wild or with animals. Peace, love and life! Ms. D (Dee Bocock)

CommentsMy boyfriend & I were truck drivers and went through Thermopolis several times and the entire area was the most breathtaking I have seen. We spent the night as often as we could ! Windriver was what I would call " The 8th. Wonder of the World" and the people were just as friendly and made us feel at home even though we are from Louisiana . Hope to one day see it again !! CommentsI grew up in Casper and would love to move back to Wyoming soon. I'd prefer thermopolis over Casper. Your web page sounds like it invites businesses to come. IT Jobs would be great, like tech support call centers. Adelphia recently moved their headquarters from a small town in Pa to Denver, but for now they have left the tech support Center where it is. This is a good example of what you could offer other businesses, as long as your town has a good communications system, you'd be all set. (I know from experience that a lot of american companies call centers are overseas. Dell, and Computer Associates are 2.) Then maybe there would be a job for me to come back to :) I miss the snow ball fights at the swimming pools in January. Greg
CommentsMy family and I found out about Thermopolis from some friends years agoWe have never been there but would love to come for a visit and maybe move to Thermopolis. I have arthritis and think the natural springs there would be great to visit everyday.

I have arthritis and think the natural springs there would be great to visit everyday. Anyone have a farmhouse to rent out there for us??LOL, but seriously!!!
CommentsI am here again after looking at all the comments and looking at the facts of the town Thermopolis, I am thinking it really is the place I want to move my family. With the health problems I have I think it would really do me good to move us there and it is such a beautiful place, it looks like heaven. I am really interested in moving us on a farm with a farmhouse for rent. I do not want to farm the land, but really love living on a farm with enough ground to raise a large garden and maybe some fowl. I am hoping someone has something for us out there!
CommentsBelieve in serendipity? Have been dredging up as much information on Wyoming as possible, as both my parents hailed from Clearmont. Have been investigating Pinedale and surrounding region but the weather and prices were daunting. How does your area compare? I was actually looking up information on tempur-pedica mattresses, made a typo, and your great website popped up! Would love to correspond w/ someone who lives there.
CommentsJust breezing through the web and went to look for Thermopolis. Lived there 17 years. Nice community. Friendly people. May look at it for retirement in 2005.

CommentsMiss Thermop so much. Miss all the friendships that I had there and really miss the town. Where else can you walk down the street and everyone says "Hi".
CommentsI am on a museum tour around Canada & the USA. I am gathering information on two items: (1) Museums in smaller, remoter communities (2) How these towns cope with ever changing circumstances. I plan to pass through Thermopolis about August 20th to 25th and would like to visit with Museum principals, chamber of commerce and Town officials. Let me know if thias will be possible.
